Welcome !

Welcome to Made Down South! Thanks for stopping by to see what I'm up to. This blog serves as my review of projects accomplished since I have way too many that are halfway done. I also tend to have so many urgent ideas where I simply have stop all else to work on the newest thing. So, this blog will show all the ideas that actually get made into stuff! Some of that stuff is available for sale at our etsy shop, Down South Designs.

Vintage Fabric Creations

Thought I would post some of the items I'm sewing for the upcoming craft sale at my church's mission fundraiser.  I used vintage fabrics, lace and trims as well as a stash of ammo bags found by my favorite goodwill hunter.

I can picture these two precious bags as gifts for twin girls.

Even pulled out a vintage dahlia stencil to use on a prefab canvas bag.

A few of these ammo bags still had
beads of buck shot inside!

Don't you love the warning disclaimer?

Now for the fun flowers that can be used as pins, hairclips or pillow/bag decorations.
Old gunny sack for this raggedy flower.
Nice white burlap for the next flower. Then couldn't decide between frayed edge or selvage edge on the osnaburg fabric, so I made both. Then I rummaged through old floral calicos and even soft old bed sheets to create more flowers.  A few unique laces made the cut and created even more flowers.

These tiny little canvas bags were bought at Hobby Lobby and dressed up with
vintage trims and flowers.

This cute this doorhanger is made from vintage canvas and really old buttons.  I liked combining the rustic crusty button with the pretty lovelies.  The vintage love ribbon really perks up the burlap & muslin heart pillow and it can be a doorhanger too.

Loving the button effect.  That glitz one is a modern button I picked up in jewelry section at Michael's.

Thanks for stopping and leaving a comment.
I will be posting at the following linky parties this week:
